Belmont to Maylands

Black bream are the prime target in this area along with the odd mulloway. The Goongoonup Bridge is an excellent spot from autumn to spring. Fish school around the concrete pilons waiting for food to flow to them. They are usually at the end the current is flowing to.

Burswood to Belmont Park offers good shore fishing along mussel beds. Maylands Yacht Club is very good for bream but access is hard. Cracknell Park has 2 small jetties accessed from Riversdale Rd which is good for mulloway in late spring. There is a small boat ramp at the end of Abernethy Rd to launch a dinghy. Tranby House has a great jetty with fabulous scenery and a small path where you can walk along fishing the snags up to Bath St Reserve. Take Peninsula Rd from Guildford Rd.

Garratt Rd Bridge is the most famous spot in the area and holds huge numbers of bream during autumn and spring. You can fish from the shore or near the pilons. Dinghy access is best from the Claughton Reserve upstream off Katanning St.
